  • 8:30 AM: Check In and Breakfast with Buff Bites Waffles
Check-in and breakfast, with the option to purchase waffles to take home!

  • 9:00 AM: Live and Move with Intention with Michelle Smith
Begin your morning with intentional breath and mindful movement. This grounding session is designed to gently awaken your body, center your mind, and reconnect you to what truly matters. Through a blend of breathwork, mobility, and intuitive yoga flow, you’ll create space to release tension, restore balance, and move with greater awareness. We’ll close with a guided intention-setting practice to help you align your energy and step into your day feeling clear, present, and empowered.

  • 10:15 AM: Creating Joy Through Enrichment
Participants will begin by crafting enrichment toys and treats for sanctuary residents using produce and simple materials before delivering them during the sanctuary experience and watching the residents explore, play, and enjoy the items. Like humans, animals thrive when they have opportunities for curiosity, stimulation, joy, and play. This hands-on experience offers a meaningful way to connect with the residents while learning how enrichment supports animal wellbeing, autonomy, and quality of life at the sanctuary. This activity invites participants to practice compassion in a direct and tangible way while creating moments of joy for the residents.

  • 11:15 AM: Sanctuary Tour and Resident Enrichment with Lanette Cook
A guided sanctuary tour and enrichment activities with the Luvin Arms residents, including a special meet-and-greet with Flora and Fauna, the two rescued sheep who inspired the name of Flora + Fauna Experiences. You will meet sanctuary residents, hear rescue stories, learn about animal care and sanctuary operations, and participate in enrichment activities with the residents!

  • 12:45 PM: Vegan Lunch with Alpine Eatery Food Truck
A shared vegan lunch and time to connect in community. The Luvin Arms Visitor’s Center will also be open to purchase fun Luvin Arms merch!

  • 1:30 PM: Compassionate Travel with Jamie Jones
A short discussion around compassionate travel and seeing the world differently as we travel. We’ll discuss how vegan travel works around the world, the impact of tourism on animals and ecosystems, and what makes our trips a little bit different.

  • 2:00 PM: Art Activity with Jamie Jones and Dessert by Italian Heart Vegan Soul Kitchen
A creative reflection activity inspired by sanctuary residents with Flora and Fauna Experiences and a delicious dessert by Italian Heart Vegan Soul Kitchen. You’ll get the chance to create a keepsake and purchase treats to take home!

  • 2:45 PM: What We Carry Forward with Diana Hulet
A guided reflection circle offering space to pause and gently turn inward, drawing on your experiences with animals and moments that stayed with you throughout the day. Through journaling, quiet reflection, and small group sharing, we’ll explore what we carry forward from these encounters–how connection, wonder, and compassion can begin to take shape in our lives beyond this space. This is an invitation to experience compassion not just as something we offer, but as something we embody, and to leave with a sense of possibility for how these connections can ripple outward in both visible and invisible ways.

  • 3:45 PM: Sound Healing Session with Ellie Ferguson
The bath will feature crystal singing bowls, vocals, and other sound-healing tools. The bath will bring participants into a state of entrainment. Entrainment means to come into vibratory resonance with those around you. When entrainment occurs, your brain produces more frequencies in the Alpha, Theta, and Delta ranges. These brain waves are associated with creativity. Bring your yoga mat, pillows, and blankets to make yourself a cozy nest to receive the benefits of sound, relax, and enjoy!

  • 4:15 PM: Closing Reflections and Gratitude with Jamie Jones
A closing circle, a chance to connect with each other before heading on with your day.

  • 5:00 PM: Event Ends

Plant-Based Facilitators

Lanette Cook

Tour + Enrichment Facilitator

Lanette began advocating for animals in the 7th grade after discovering what was happening to the rabbits in her school’s FFA program. It wasn’t until several years later that she fully realized the impact that a single individual could have in improving the lives of animals.

After moving to Colorado from Texas, she toured Luvin Arms and knew she had found a place where she could pursue her passion for animal advocacy and draw on her experience working with children to help educate the next generation on how to live a compassionate, non-violent lifestyle.

Diana Hulet

Reflection Facilitator

Diana is a writer, animal photojournalist, and meditation teacher with over three decades of experience in yoga philosophy and contemplative traditions. Her work explores the ethical relationships between humans, animals, and the natural world, with compassion as a catalyst for change.

Diana is Board Vice President of Sanctuary Doc, a contributor to We Animals and The Empathy Project, and the author of The Lateral Line on Substack. She holds a B.S. from Oregon State University in environmental ethics and ecology, and is currently pursuing an M.A. in Engaged Jain Studies with a concentration on Animal Ethics and Yoga Studies.

Her ongoing project, What if We Saw Them, invites reflection on the visibility of animals within human systems and the ethical responsibilities that arise from that awareness.
