Building Community Through Compassion

Fauna (left) and Flora (right) turned 4 this month!

Hello friends,

As our community continues to grow, Flora and Fauna Experiences will be moving from a monthly newsletter to a quarterly update.

The past few months have been full of connection, compassion, and community. Thank you for being part of this journey.

Celebrating Flora and Fauna

Last week, we celebrated Flora and Fauna’s fourth birthday. The day included homemade muffins made just for them, shared with their sheep friends, some clicker play, and plenty of time simply being with them and spoiling them the way they deserve. Check out the fun they had on Instagram.

Moments like this remind us why sanctuaries matter. In the food system, sheep rarely have the chance to live full lives. Lambs raised for meat are typically slaughtered between 6 and 12 months old. Sheep used for breeding or wool are often culled when their productivity declines, usually around 5 to 7 years old. Their natural lifespan can be 10 to 20 years.

Celebrating Flora and Fauna is a reminder that every animal is an individual whose life is worth protecting and celebrating.

What We Have Been Doing Together

Over the last three months our community has gathered in many meaningful ways.

  • We started the year with hikes around Boulder, including time on the trails at Wonderland Lake and Green Mountain.

  • We shared vegan meals together at Crepe Therapy, the Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse, and Jill’s Bistro.

  • We volunteered at Luvin Arms Animal Sanctuary, helping prepare for upcoming sanctuary events and spending time supporting the incredible work happening there.

  • We spent a service day at W.O.L.F. Sanctuary building doghouses for wolves and cleaning out enclosures before ending the day with a meet and greet with some of the wolf dog ambassadors.

  • We visited Colorado Horse Rescue to learn about their rehabilitation work and the thoughtful process of matching horses with the right homes.

  • And we continued our monthly yoga gatherings at Luvin Arms Animal Sanctuary, creating space for reflection and connection alongside rescued animals.

Each of these experiences is a reminder that compassion grows stronger when people come together.

Travel With Us

Flora and Fauna Experiences trips are designed for people who want to explore the world while staying aligned with compassion for animals, the planet, and local communities.

These journeys are about more than travel. They are opportunities to build community, learn from the places we visit, and experience wildlife and culture in thoughtful ways, while supporting sanctuary work.

Bali Group Trip in August

Our Bali retreat is coming together beautifully. There are still six early bird spots available, and we need six participants booked for the trip to move forward.

If Bali has been on your heart, this is the moment to join us and help bring this compassionate travel experience to life.

View the trip and reserve your spot ASAP: https://trovatrip.com/host/profiles/jamie-sros3

Galapagos Group Trip in December

We also only have six spots remaining for our Galapagos journey. The Galapagos Islands are one of the most remarkable wildlife destinations in the world, and this trip will explore them with an intentional and ethical travel approach.

Reserve your spot soon before the trip fills.
